I am Gustavo Lee born and raised in Panama City, love the outdoors with lots of fresh or salty water, and have traveled the entire country, this is quite easy when the distance from coast to coat on the narrowest point (Panama Canal) is 80 kilometers long; yes travelers you can visit both Pacific and Atlantic coasts in 3 hours round trip J. YouGoPanama offers day tours in the City, El Valle, Atlantic Coast Sites, can also accommodate Rainforest preferences if that’s what you like, and we can do customized tours or visit any place you have planned for.
One of my favorite places in Panama City is Casco Viejo; with enchanting architecture, and where the sequel of the Panamanian history continued in 1673, after Panama-Old City (Panama Viejo is the oldest European settlement on the Pacific coast of the Americas) was partially destroyed in 1671, when Henry Morgan marched with 1400 men from the Caribbean coast and once they reached what we know now as Panama-Old City, just ran sacked and believed to burn down the place or provoked it.
At Casco Viejo (Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997), a combination of brick streets with a distinctive colonial architecture encompass the iconic historic district of Panama City, cozy streets due to the warmth of the locals and filled with a diverse culture; the ruins and buildings will take you back to the 17th and 18th century stepping on churches, plazas, hotels, restaurants and bars. Promenade during the day while taking pictures of breathtaking colonial structures with an ocean front and come back at night to live and enjoy the most popular night life in THE CITY, Panama!
